MY story

Smoosh came from a high-rise flat, where he was very underweight and was unmanageable because of separation anxiety. This was caused by the owners being unable to give him the attention and training he desperately needed in his young age.

Smoosh still needs to gain a lot more weight. However, the weight is coming on nicely. He is the most affectionate dog. He adores humans and behaves more like a cat. He is very playful, he loves to bring you toys, and loves to carry things bigger than himself! He knows sit, paw, lay down… and he is keen to learn new things and please his humans (especially smaller humans 8+). He must sleep with you, watch telly with you, go to the toilet with you - and basically be with you at all times. He will lay down and snore happily wherever you are. His favourite spot is between your legs at night or snoring loudly on the pillow next to you in your ear.

In foster, Smoosh has responded really positively to training and is now able to settle for a few hours alone. He has not shown destructive behaviour. He will mostly go to the toilet outside. However, if not, he uses a puppy pad. Smoosh has negative associations with being crated, and for this reason, he is best having access when left to an open area, such as a gated kitchen.

He is a dog that really thrives on attention, and for this reason would suit a younger family, who are willing to take him to training classes to help him learn how to meet and greet other dogs appropriately. So that eventually, he could come along to all the adventures your family went on.

Smoosh does not like male dogs, he cannot live with a male resident dog at all. His reactions towards a male dog within his home are unpredictable. So, at this point, a male dog free home is needed. In time with training, he may learn to be calmer. However, he adores 5 female dogs within the foster home. He rough plays, grooms them, and plays chase. Smoosh has also met female dogs on walks and been instantly fine. Smoosh can go off lead and will come back to you. However, his behaviour towards male dogs prevents this unless in a secure field.

MY PERFECT HOME

Smoosh is looking for a family home. He can live with children 8+ and cats. He could live with a female dog, but no male dogs, please. He will need someone around a fair bit as she suffers from separation anxiety.
You must have a secure garden with 6ft fencing all round.
